IDYLLIC LOCATION OF ROCCAPINA
Roccapina is set in a protected area of Corsica’s southwestern corner called the Grand Valinco region. It is a sparsely populated area famous for numerous prehistoric sites and castles, but also for the natural beauty of aromatic lush vegetation.
The nearest town, Sartene, is located around 20 km from the beach.
ACCESS ROAD
Roccapina can be reached via an unpaved road meandering 2.5 km downhill from the Auberge Coralli on the T40. The condition of the potholed piste leaves much to be desired thus slow and careful driving is advised.
At the end of the descent, you will find a small parking area where you may leave your vehicle.
PICTURESQUE COVE
The beach is famous for crystal clear turquoise waters and a 400 m stretch of powder-soft white sand sheltered by rocks on each side. Being a safe bathing spot, Roccapina is very popular with families, however, it can get very busy in the summer months.
No facilities are provided at the beach so make sure you arrive equipped with your own water and food supplies.
BOAT TOUR TO ROCCAPINA, ILES LAVEZZI, AND BONIFACIO
Boat tour to south Corsica’s beaches and Bonifacio from Porticcio/Ajaccio. Discover south Corsica’s emblematic destinations- sublime beaches, including Roccapina, Lavezzi Islands, and the clifftop town of Bonifacio. This popular day-long adventure includes an aperitif comprising local rose wine and artisanal charcuterie.
LION DE ROCCAPINA
The gulf is overlooked by a rocky outcrop of pink granite shaped by erosion into the form of a crouching lion.
According to a legend, a lord called ‘the Lion‘, having invoked death, turned into a stone in an act of sorrow caused by an unfulfilled love.
Climbing the rock formation is very dangerous, even deadly, and can only be performed by very experienced climbers.
BOAT TRIP TO ROCCAPINA FROM SANTA GIULIA – PORTO VECCHIO

GENOESE TOWER
Torra di Roccapina, another landmark dominating the beach, is located on the same hilltop of Capu di Roccapina and can be reached via a stony path ascending from the beach. Remember to keep left at the fork while climbing up the hill.
The panoramic vistas of the coastline seen from the Tour are breathtaking. The vast 2 km stretch of white sand to the north of Punta di Roccapina is called Plage de Erbaju. Inaccessible by car, this beautiful wild beach can be reached via a stony piste in around 20 minutes.
